Komorebi
2025
Komorebi is an audiovisual art installation that explores the fragile beauty of nature in the meeting between the organic and the digital. By combining light, sound, and natural elements, the installation creates a sensory experience in which a forest slowly dissolves into light and pixels. Through a dynamic transformation from the natural to the artificial, the work examines our modern technological society and the gradual distancing from nature.
The installation uses video recordings of a forest, which—through point-cloud techniques and laser light—is gradually abstracted into a digital interpretation of nature. The soundscape reinforces this transformation by blending authentic nature sounds with electronic tonal textures that symbolize humanity’s intervention in the ecosystem.
The purpose of Komorebi is to invite the audience to reflect on what nature is in a time when technology both distorts and recreates our experience of it. The installation creates a poetic space where the organic and the digital merge—a reminder of nature’s fragility and our responsibility to preserve it in a digital age.
With its strong visual and sonic expression, Komorebi appeals to both art and nature enthusiasts, as well as a broader audience interested in exploring the relationship between humans, technology, and nature.
